| Me and my friend were discussing stuff during American History today and I thought I'd post my opinions on the net for the world to see.
First off, the American justice system: It's lacking justice. I am opposed to the death penalty, but only because so many people who get don't deserve death, but excrutiatingly painful torture. Take my friend for instance (outta respect for her privacy, I'm not mentioning her name or go into detail about what's happened). Her stepfather just got out of jail for something he should have gotten a lifetime of torture for. But, no, all he got was somewhere around 15 years in prison. And her cousin's husband deserves to be tortured for the rest of this life and all of the next 5. Like I said, I'm not going into detail about what they did (not saying at all what her stepfather did), but let's just say it's a miracle her cousin's still alive, and incredibly sad beyond all comprehension that only one of her unborn twins survived, and only because the other died.
And people know about this kinda stuff, know that it happens, BUT THEY DO NOTHING. My sister showed my mom this video online (I unfortunately don't have a link) where this undercover cop acted like a kidnapper and attempted to "kidnap" a kid off a street full of people. Nobody did anything to help the kid. They'd walk by, see it, and keep on walking. That kid could get kidnapped, raped, killed, tortured, and people know that it happens, it's always on the news, and they do nothing.
The government's worse. They know about this stuff, and they have the power to do something about it, but they don't. And don't give me bullshit that there are laws against some of that stuff. I'm not saying there aren't, but they don't do anything to prevent these things from happening.
And then there's stuff like illegal immigration that nobodies doing anything about. Now, I know that that may not seem like anything too important, but my brother-in-law almost died the other day because an illegal immigrant (what the police suspect he was anyway due to the fact that he kept on driving after the accident) totalled his motorcycle. The only reason my brother-in-law lived was because he saw the other guy was about to crash into him and he jumped off his motorcycle before the car hit him.
And then there's the relatively unimportant issue of everyone being so sensitive about every little thing. This country's supposed to be guarenteeing our freedom of speech, but when the smallest of controversial comments is made, that person is made out to be some sort of evil being from Hell. And all the "controversial" comments are so one-sided. Now, don't take me to be racist, 'cause I am most definately not. It's just that, black (or any "minority" group) people can say what they want about whites and nothing happens to them, but when it's reversed, the white person gets to be made out to seem like some sort of evil being from Hell. Consider this example: In my school, I've seen a few black people wear shirts that say "I am black" on them. Nobody says anything about them. But if a white person was to wear a shirt that said "I am white" I have no doubt that they'd get in trouble for it. I know many people may disagree, but that's ok. These are my opinions and I don't expect every single person to agree, and again I'm not racist.
It's the same thing with religion. People are so afraid to say anything against any religion, especially in the realm of science and people's beliefs of creation. But the religions that are being "offended" should be respectful of other people's opinions whether they be for or against their religion.
And you know what? Me being all reassuring that I'm not racist is another example of this. Even with the whole point of this post being for me to express my opions, I am still scared of someone taking something the wrong way, which just goes to show y'all. | | |
| Yo, wazzup ma homies?
Just thought I'd update....not much is goin' on...
'Cept I'm, like, not doin' well in two of my classes...which isn't good cuz I gotta get my GPA up if I'm gonna get a scholarship for college >< It really sucks 'cause AP Spanish is freakin' hard. But, on the bright side, I got A's in my other two classes, so that's good....
And, omg, I dunno if I was just, like, seein' things or somethin' or if me and Nekita are just the last ones to hear about this sorta thing, but I coulda sworn I saw one of my other friends and this one dude I'm sorta friends with, kiss each other. It wasn't no long kiss, but it wasn't no peck on the cheek either. And it's wierd, cuz, like, her and him....not right for each other at all....never woulda expected somethin' like that......among other things that I'm not even goin' into......
But the day ended well: With the normal amount of insanity anyone should expect from a bus ride home with Curtis.
Me: "Bwahahaha!! That dude is like, totally smashed. The other dude, is just like on the verge of bein' smashed. But that dude is, like..."
Curtis: "-long gone."
...........
Me: "It looks like a candle!"
Curtis: "It's a sword."
Me: "But it looks like a candle..."
Curtis: "Everyone else says it looks like a sword, but you, noooo. You think it's a candle."
Me: "Cuz it looks like one!"
Ahhh...good times, good times.....

I walk through the now familiar town, much like my own, though somewhat different I had been in one of the shops when I heard the commotion outside, and even though I knew exactly what was going on, I left the shop to find out anyway.
It is the third night in a row that I have had this dream, and I know the intent of the oncoming black cloaked army. I want to scream at the people of the village to leave and get away before tha army comes, but the person I am seeing this through does not know and so cannot.
Now the people are beginning to understand and panic ensues. People are running about yelling and screaming, shoving others aside to save themselves, and a building at the edge of town catches fire as the army has arrived.
I start to run, to get away, but the people around me have gone crazy in their panic and I am carelessly shoved aside. My back hits a wall, knocking the wind out of me and causing me to sink to the ground.
My vision is blurring and fading, and I know I'm going to faint any moment, as I see a cloaked enemy standing above me. As he raises his mace, I find the energy to emit a scream. | | |

Christmas
So awesome! My older sister, who lives way up north in New York flew down for Christmas! She came Christmas Eve and left New Year's Day.
And speakin' of New Years, I was the only one in my family who actually stayed up 'till New Year's Day....and it was by accident. ^^U
And now...school's back. Evil school. Evil spelled backwards is live.
